Oh, the joys of being a Newlywed...a semi vent

Sooo...how's married life?

I’ve been asked that at least twice a day.
For the past 3 months.
By the same handful of people.

I know they think they are being ohsofunny. But they aren’t. Not even one tiny little bit.

Seriously, do they really think my answer is going to change hour-by-hour, day-by-day? Sometimes, I want to make it exciting for them and answer that married life sucks. That I absolutely hate it. But I just can’t do it because married life is, in fact, quite wonderful.

The thing is, though, non-married life was quite wonderful as well so what’s the difference? Every time I’m asked, I respond that it’s the same as before we were married, but I’m left wondering, is it supposed to be different?

Are we supposed to turn into the old married couple that does nothing but bicker?
Is the pretty, new ring on my finger supposed change our relationship completely?

The way I see it, our relationship is exactly the same as it was before marriage.
Except now, we are in this together.
Through the ups and downs.
Forever.

Wow, it feels like it was just yesterday that I was
super excited about starting my 100 day countdown calendar...and now, here we are, 100 days after the wedding! Time surely flies when you are having fun!

I am so lucky to have spent the last 100 days with the man of my dreams. I couldn't have asked for a better 100 days.

Happy planning to my bride-to-be followers. Enjoy your 100 day countdown...and remember to cherish every day because they will go fast!!

Free to a good home! :)

Since my brother, sister-in-law, and parents were coming over yesterday, Mr Jones and I decided to do a deep clean of the apartment. It had been a little (ok, a lot) neglected over the past few weeks so it was definitely time.

Well, sometimes when I get cleaning, I get in the groove and really clean. And sometimes that cleaning includes drawers and the closet. Yesterday was one of those days. :)

Up for grabs, I have two scarves that have only been worn once each. First person to email (thecatsfancy@yahoo) for either gets it...my only request is that you be an active follower (i.e. you have posted comments on my blog before and I know who you are). :)

GONE - Old Navy plaid - this one is a shorter scarf and looks cute worn with the points down.

GONE - Flower print scarf (I think from Target?) - this one is longer and can be worn looped around your neck. It feels like it's a linen blend.

Love, love, love Giveaways :)

Just the other day, I posted that my blog could really use a makeover...and what do I see today? Not one, but TWO giveaways for a blog makeover. I'm so excited!!

Cassie over at The Glamorous Life is giving away a blog makeover by Kelsey (Kreated by Kelsey).

And...

Kelsey is also giving away a blog makeover on her blog!!! Talk about generous! :)

I have my fingers and toes crossed that I win one!!

It wasn't me...oh wait, yes it was

Over the past 5 months, there has been many-a-morning where I was greeted with a face full of water when I turned on the shower.

The reason?

Somebody (ahem, Mr Jones) didn't check to see if the little thingie that you pull up to switch the water flow the shower head was down (see below picture) after his shower the previous morning...so guess what happens when the water is turned on? Yup. It comes out the shower head. Directly into my face. And early morning water is COLD.

Not my actual shower

This morning, I received another face full of cold water.
And immediately blamed Mr Jones. And got all worked up and ready to give him crap about not checking to make sure the thingie was down when I had asked him to so many times.

Until I realized he wasn't the last one to take a shower yesterday morning - I was.
Oops.

(BTW, what in the heck is that little thingie called?? Does it have a name?)

I don't know what my problem is!

I get ready in the morning, lots of potential blog post topics flitting about in my head...little bits and pieces of witty posts. I often want to rush to my laptop and jot down a quick post or two, but I don't because I wake up with justenoughtime to shower, get ready, and rush out the door for work. No time for blogging (don't I wish!).

But then, when I sit down to post, NOTHING. My mind goes blank and writer's block digs in its nasty little claws. Seriously. I don't know what happens between now and then...I sure don't like it.

I promise I will try to get better at posting...and thinking of wittier topics than complaining about my lack of witty topics (oh, the irony).

In the meantime, stay tuned for a giveaway coming soon! I'm teaming up with a very talented friend of mine to celebrate 100 followers (because I know there are some following on Google Reader who don't show up in my follower count...ahem, name twin...hehe). I can't wait to reveal the details!!

My poor little blog

It needs a face lift...quite badly, actually. I look at all these other blogs with their awesome layouts and fancy schmancy headers (with pretty fonts and pictures, of course!) and I feel completely inadequate.

Kind of like the kid who tried so hard to be cool, but fell short...only to be laughed at by the other kids. (Ok, I know it's not that extreme...but still...)

I am somewhat tech savvy, but definitely not enough to design my own awesome layout and fancy schmancy header. I need help!

Any suggestions?

Anyone bored/feeling creative/wanting to take pity on poor, poor pitiful me?

Fun Times in the Winter Times

We have some monster icicles outside our balcony. And leave it to a man to want to play with them...

Can he get it off in one piece???

Yup!! And I'll admit...it's quite impressive!

Trying to knock more down...

"I Wanna Dance" into 5th Place!

A couple days ago, I entered one of Mr Jones' photos in the I Heart Faces "I Wanna Dance" photo challenge. There were 369 wonderful entries so I was in no way expecting to win...I entered for the fun of it, really. It's one of my all time favorite photos and I just wanted to share it with others. :)

Imagine our surprise (and sheer delight) when I checked the winning photos post over at I Heart Faces this morning and there it was...the photo I entered. In 5th place! So freakin' COOL!

All of the winners' photos are gorgeous. Mr Jones is truly honored to be included in the Top 10. I wish I had my camera handy to take a picture of the huge grin that came across his face when I told him he'd won 5th place.

It's about time!!!

I know some of you may agree with me...and some of you may not...but I think it was about darn time an American won gold! Way to go Evan Lysacek!
