Back in the saddle...errrr...I mean the ice skates

Lately, I've been bitten by the skating bug. And I blame it on Kim (hehe!). I met my life twin, Kim, on The Knot while planning my wedding. I call her my life twin because she is also a former figure skater, our cats could be twins, and we pretty much share the same brain. Honest.

Kim understands my affection for "rink air" and how it's completely different than regular air. And she understands what I mean when I say I feel like I'm about to shoot the duck (no, I'm not out hunting)...or that another friend's leggings look like mondors.

It was pretty much a given that we'd eventually go skating together even though it took us a few months to set up a skate date. But we did. And it was fabulous. Ever since Mr Jones and I went with her and her fiance a few weekends ago, I've been itching to get back on the ice.

I even bought a new skate bag! A girl's gotta have something to tote her skating stuff around in, doesn't she? :) And, yes, I'm a nice wife...I let Mr Jones put his skates in there too.

Now, we just need to get back to the rink!!

I Heart Faces - "I Wanna Dance!" Photo Challenge

This was taken at a friend's wedding by my handsome hubby. All of the love and the emotions of their wedding day are captured oh-so-perfectly in this photo...it makes my heart smile.

When I saw the "I Wanna Dance" photo challenge at I Heart Faces, I knew I had to enter this photo! It is my first entry so we will see how it goes. Check out their website to see the other entries!

Wedding Wednesday - First Glance & Bridal Party

And...what you have been waiting for all day... *drum roll please*

More wedding pictures!!!! (YAY)

Mr Jones and I chose to see each other before the ceremony. It's a bit unconventional, but, honestly, when have we ever been conventi0nal?! Added bonus: it helped calm any nerves we had. I know if we hadn't had that time before the ceremony, I probably would have been a blubbering idiot during the vows (or fidgeting around like I had to pee).
Here I come!

I believe I said, "Hi Baby" right here...

Checking out the veil

Our bridal party was awesome...we truly couldn't have asked for better people to stand beside us as we pledged our love and lives to each other.

My bridesmaids consisted of my sister-in-law, my best friend since I was 2-years-old (MOH), a good from since High School, and a good friend I met through Mr Jones.

The guys seriously crack me up in this picture!

Mr Jones' groomsmen consisted of close friends he's known since grade school. These guys are all top-notch. I'm thankful Mr has such wonderful friends in his life.

JAZZ HANDS!

Next week: Pictures of the Bride & Groom...

Can we say Baby Fever?!

I know I can!

So many of my real life and bloggie friends are expecting. It's certainly a baby boom around here!! And it's given me major baby fever.

My "snow day" has consisted of watching A Baby Story, Bringing Home Baby, Make Room for Baby, Birth Day...the list goes on and on.

I think the TV is trying to tell me something. *grin*

Hmmm...I guess I spoke too soon...

Over the weekend, I was telling Mr Jones how I was thrilled Michigan wasn't getting a lot of snow this winter. You see, Michigan is usually the state getting dumped on...and, for once, it wasn't us!

Well...I should've kept my mouth shut. Yup. We got dumped on last night...about 10" worth. I know it's nothing compared to the feet of snow covering some states, but ugh. I really didn't want this...

I did get a day off work so I guess it's good for something. Right?

Keep checking back for Wedding Wednesday pictures...I'll have them up by the end of the day! :) And, in case you didn't see them, check out my other picture post.

Love Is...

I love this time of year. Why?? Because of Girl Scout cookies. I live for Girl Scout cookies.

And Edy's has made it even better. Girl Scout cookies...and ice cream. Heaven. It would go against every fiber of my being (and willpower) to not buy the ice cream so I buy the light version...it's not as bad. Right? I have to justify somehow!!

A Weekend Full of Movies

Our NetFlix movie this weekend was "Up". Mr Jones has been wanting to see it because he loves Pixar movies.

I thought the story was really cute and sweet (who doesn't love true love and devotion?), but there were some moments that left me scratching my head in confusion. For example, the explorer was an adult when Carl and Ellie were children yet, he is around the same age as Carl when they meet in Paradise Falls? Maybe I'm too analytical, but yeah...

Overall, I'd give "Up" an A-. I would watch it again...and that's saying a lot because I'm not usually big on watching movies.

This picture makes me laugh...a "real life" Russell!"

Today's movie was an old love of mine - "The Princess Bride". Mr Jones had never seen it before (GASP!) so I decided it was time he did. Luckily, it was available for immediate streaming on NetFlix so we snuggled on the couch and immersed ourselves in the story of Princess Buttercup and Westley.

My favorite exchange in the movie...it's just so sweet:

Westley: I told you I would always come for you. Why didn't you wait for me?
Buttercup: Well... you were dead.
Westley: Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.
Buttercup: I will never doubt again.
Westley: There will never be a need.

I think he has separation anxiety...

Back when I lived by myself, I used to let my kitty-loves sleep in bed with me; however, now that I am a married woman, I have to (sometimes) do what my husband wants...and that means no kitty-loves in the bed. *sad* He mentioned something about not wanting to brush kitty litter from the sheets every night. Party pooper.

I knew Sammy was going to have the most attitude about being shut out of the bedroom. He's pretty much attached to my hip throughout the day (see evidence below) and always slept next to my head.

Annnnnd I was right. Bo is a bit more independent so he doesn't care a whole lot about being excluded from the sleep party. But Sammy...oh, you bet he cares! He. cares. a. lot.

For months, he would lay on the other side of the door, press his face against the crack at the bottom, and cry gallons of kitty tears. It broke my heart...and drove me insane...all at the same time.

Lately, we have started shoving a pair of jeans under the door so he can't press his face against the crack in the door. You'd think that might deter him, right? Of course not!! He just found a new method of showing his displeasure - spitting up his food in random spots throughout the apartment. Ugh.

My cat has separation anxiety.
