Weekend Project - Kitty Style!

Sorry I've been MIA in blog-land. I finally kicked the stupid cold. but not before passing it to Mr Jones...sorry babe! This weekend was pretty relaxing and uneventful though I'm sure it'll be the last for a while since we are closing in on ONE MONTH until the wedding (holy crap!). We've definitely been slacking in the wedding planning department so I need to get us back on track this week...starting with the wedding favors (which I can't wait to show my blog friends!).

Our weekend project, though not wedding related, was still a lot of fun. Now that our junk room is somewhat under control (i.e. not a fire/kitty hazard), we've started to allow the kitties to venture in there. They absolutely love it because it gets a lot of sunlight for them to lounge in. After watching Sammy try to balance all 20lbs of himself on the small window ledge, Mr Jones came up with the idea of installing a kitty shelf in the window. That way, both Sammy and Bo could watch the world go by without having to balance precariously on the window ledge.

After working out the logistics, Mr Jones ran off the store to get supplies (because, according to him, why buy a shelf when you can easily make one?). One piece of wood, a destroyed pillow (for the cotton fill), and a $2 Walmart towel later, the kitty loves have a comfy new perch where they can bask in the sun! Needless to say, they both love it.

It's official...

I've caught the cold that's been going around. I figured it was only a matter of time since it seems like everyone at work has had it at some point in the last two weeks. Ugh. Today is better than yesterday though so hopefully, it'll be short-lived.

Not exactly the reason I'd like to have a day off work...but I'll take it. I plan on trying to be productive today...in between coughing and blowing my nose.

What makes for a Happy Taryn?

Wedding shows!! I know Mr Jones hopes I will lose interest after the wedding, but he's in for a sad surprise when he realizes I love them just as much after as I did before the wedding. I don't anticipate being married changing that. Sorry, babe.

Tonight, we finished up our invitations while "Say Yes to the Dress" and "Wedded to Perfection" played in the background. My idea of the perfect night...but maybe not so much for Mr Jones. He didn't complain too much though. Love him. And love TLC for putting me in the mood for my wedding-filled night.

Thank you, Katie Darling!!

First of all, a HUGE thank you to Katie for organizing the scarf swap!!

I had a blast shopping for my swap parter, Katie (a different one) over at Truly Darling. I must say, she really lives up to her name. I mean, look how adorable (and, yes, "truly darling") she is in her new scarf! :) I am really glad the scarf swap introduced us to each other. I have enjoyed reading her blog...especially the posts about her sweet baby boy, Oliver!

In her Thank You post, Katie wrote about how she hit the jackpot with me as her swap partner. Ummm...does she not realize how above and beyond she went?!?!

First of all, the package was so cute; she taped a doiley to the outside top of the box (loved it!). Then, after I opened the box, I saw that she not only sent me a scarf, but she included a little one for the cats (which made me giggle like a little school girl)! She also sent along some hot cocoa "because what's a scarf without hot coco?" But that's not even the best part! She included a second box for Mr Jones so I wouldn't have to drink mine alone. I think I love her.

Onto the pictures (I know that's what you've been waiting for!). I must say - I LOVE POLKA DOTS. How did she know??

(I am seriously loving www.rollip.com for turning my pictures into Polaroids. How fun is that?)

And, of course, my Sammy-Sam looking oh-so handsome in his new scarf. I tried to get Mr Bojangles (Bo) to wear it, but he wasn't have any part of that (such a party pooper!).

So...this wedding is really happening, huh?

What a crazy day!! Mr Jones and I were gone from 7:30am until about 11:00pm. I'm tired! And hungry.

We met with the pastor tonight. That definitely made the wedding a lot more real (and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT). Up until tonight, it seemed almost surreal...it definitely hadn't hit me that I'm getting married (as in, I will be with and love this man for the rest of my life).

We ran through the ceremony details - who's giving the bride away, who's walking the grandparents/mothers down the aisle, if we'll have a unity candle or not - you know, stuff the pastor kind of needs to know. When we got to the exchanging of the vows, Pastor had us stand up, hold hands, and practice-recite our vows. I certainly wasn't expecting that and (honestly) wasn't sure how I'd react. Well, I'm proud to report I didn't cry...but I did fidget. A lot. I need to work on that because I'm sure it's not so special when the bride looks like she's either doing the pee-pee dance or having a seizure. I'm not sure which one, but I do know neither looks pretty.

Invitations, Invitations Everywhere...

Take a peek at what has consumed my day. My hand hurts. :( And we're not even done. *sigh*

Busy, busy day!

I have a crazy busy afternoon/evening ahead of me yet I still can't seem to drag my butt off the couch to go take a shower. Yup, it's 12:30 in the afternoon and I still haven't showered (ewwwww...I know!).

Mr Jones is working until 4:00, then we have to leave immediately (i.e. I grab the car door and launch myself in as he coasts by) to drive down to our friend's house. Once we get there, we have to leave immediately (again) to drive over the to David's Bridal so Erica can try on the bridesmaid dress. :)

After that, we are on our way to the So You Think You Can Dance show!! I am so excited I can hardly stand it! My life is complete when this show is on. Literally.

What are you up to this weekend? I hope it's a good one!!

Bridal Shower pictures - better late than never, right?

First of all, I am very sorry for going MIA this past week. It was a crazy week to say the least...but I'm back!!

My bridal shower as last Saturday. I had a friend come over beforehand to get me all "prettied up" (I'm seriously makeup retarded). Once she worked her magic, I looked pretty hot if I do say so myself! Also, the dress I bought off eBay for my rehearsal came in the morning so I decided to wear it...I couldn't resist its black & white yummy-ness! Bonus - it's really comfortable!!

It was great having all my loved ones all together in one room (though I will admit I was nervous before I got there!). My MOH had her 6-week-old baby girl with her and I spent most of the shower plotting how I could get out the door with her without anyone noticing! She is just so precious...it definitely makes me want to have a baby (shhhh...don't tell Mr Jones!).

Me and Miss Maiya

Showing off the gorgeous cake!

Time for presents!! (I made Mr Jones show up for that part.)

Ribbon & tissue paper bouquet (I only broke one ribbon...hehe!)
